Gujiya Recipe - Gujia - Mawa Ghujiya Recipe

Materials Required - Ingredients for Mawa Gujiya

To put flour

Flour - 2 cups (250 gms)
Ghee - For kneading dough and frying for Gujia
Ghee - For frying Gujia
For stuffing

Mawa - 100 gms
Cashews - 1 tablespoon
Raisins - 1 tablespoon
Chironji - 1 table spoon
Cardamom - 4 to 5
Dry Gola - 2 table spoons (grated)
Chinese powder - 1/2 cup (80 grams)

Hard dough
Mix ¼ cup moyan yaniki ghee in the flour and mix it well. Put a little water in the maida and knead the dough in full flour. Smoothen it and keep the dough covered for 20 minutes. Fewer quantity of flour is less than half cup of water.

Make casing / stuffing

Heat the pan and add Mawa to it and fry it till it becomes light brown. Keep flame in between. After roasting mawa, take it out in a bowl and let it cool down.

After this, add sugar, coconut, raisins and cashew nuts to Mawa and mix it. Add chironji and cardamom also and mix well. With the mix of all the things, it is ready to fill in Gujia.

Make guajia

Cure the flour and fix it. Again, break 20 to 25 small fishes from it. Make round each of the flour and make it like a tree.

Pick up a dough and keep it on the chalk and take it 4-4 4.5 inch diameter thin finely. Keep the top of the mold and put 1 to 1.5 teaspoon filling. Put a little water on the edge of the pan and close the mold and lightly press and keep the cutting away. These cuts also come in handy to make Gujiaas later. Open the mold and take out the Gujia and put it in the plate and cover it with cloth so that it is not dried nor Prepare all the Gujjas in the same way and keep them in the plate.

Gujia talo

To fry the Gujjia in Kadhahi, heat enough ghee by adding ghee to it. Put as many Gujjas in one go by in the hot ghee one goji Take the Gujia frozen on medium and low flame till brown. After being frozen on one hand, take the Gujia back and turn it aside. Remove the well fried Gujia and put it in the plate.

Delicious Mawa's Gujjya is ready. Make them proud when you are at any festival or whenever you have a mind. After cooling down, keep it in the air tight container and keep eating for 15 days.


By mixing roasted seeds, semolina etc. in Mawa, you can prepare different types of flavors.
Copper or molasses can also be replaced by ground sugar.
Gujia does not tear, keep 4 things for it. First, when filling Gujia, apply light water to all edges and paste well. Do not fill in other Gujia. Third, do not overcharge Moya while pouring flour. With it, Gujia bursts and becomes torn in time. Fourth, handle Gujia very carefully with light hands. Gujia bursts due to a finger.
